On June 24, 2025, CENN, in collaboration with representatives from IHE Delft, presented the working version of the Alazani Basin Drought and Seasonal Streamflow Prediction System to the National Environmental Agency (NEA) of Georgia.

During the first half of the meeting, participants discussed the system’s functionality, potential upgrades, and synergies with NEA’s existing data and monitoring platforms. The session provided an opportunity to align technical features with the agency’s operational priorities, ensuring that the tool effectively supports early warning and water resource management in the Alazani Basin.
The second half of the meeting focused on an in-depth analysis of NEA’s specific needs and strategic directions for future development. Discussions addressed opportunities for integrating the system within NEA’s digital infrastructure, as well as long-term sustainability and upscaling potential to other river basins across Georgia.
The session concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen cooperation between scientific institutions and national agencies, promoting the operational use of climate services for improved drought preparedness and water management.
