CREAF and Partners Present Climate Services Co-Design at Geographic Information Technologies Congress
Lluis Pesquer from CREAF participated in the XX Congress of Geographic Information Technologies held in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain, from October 14 to 16. The congress, titled ‘Geographic Information Technologies for the Construction of Smart Territories’, gathered experts to discuss the role of geotechnologies in advancing smart and sustainable regions.
Pesquer presented a paper titled “Co-design of Climate Services through the Integration of Scientific Predictive Models, Geotechnologies, and Local Knowledge”, co-authored by members of the Andalucía-Los Pedroches Living Lab, including Lluis Pesquer Amanda Batlle, Ester Prat and Annelies Broekman, from CREAF; Miquel Ninyerola from the Autonomous University of Barcelona; Nikoletta Ropero, Nuria Hernández-Mora, and Lucia De Stefano from UCM; and María Pat González from IFAPA. The presentation emphasized the collaborative approach of integrating scientific data, technological tools, and local expertise to design effective climate services.
