I-CISK Progress Highlights: 3rd General Assembly Wraps Up in Chania, Greece

The picturesque city of Chania, Greece, played host to an important milestone for the I-CISK project as partners gathered last week for the 3rd General Assembly meeting. The event served as a pivotal platform to review the strides made in developing human-centered climate services and to address the challenges still ahead.

Key Achievements to Date:

1. The I-CISK Co-Creation Framework
The project now boasts a robust Co-Creation Framework that serves as a practical tool to guide co-creation processes, tailored for a wide range of contexts.

2. A Thriving Collaborative Network
Engagement has been strong, with over 150 key stakeholders from more than 50 institutions participating across seven living labs in Europe and Africa. These labs are spread across the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Greece, Georgia, and Lesotho. Currently, 15 tailored climate services, targeting hazards such as floods, droughts, and heatwaves, are in their final development phases. These services span multiple critical sectors, including agriculture, energy, tourism, and water management.

3. Groundbreaking Research & Public Resources
The I-CISK project is generating fresh, impactful research, including work by early-career researchers. Many outputs, such as peer-reviewed articles and project deliverables, are already accessible on the project’s website, with additional resources slated for release soon.

A Note of Appreciation

The I-CISK consortium extends its gratitude to all partners for their unwavering commitment and to CIHEAM Chania and EMVIS S.A. for their warm and seamless hosting in Chania.

Stay tuned as we continue our journey toward co-created climate solutions that integrate local knowledge and promote climate-resilient decision-making.
