The Andalucía-Pedroches living lab at the XIII Iberian Congress of Water Management and Planning

Members of the UCM and CREAF ICISK teams participated in the XIII Iberian Congress of Water Management and Planning organized by the New Water Culture Foundation on April 24-26, 2025 in the University of Salamanca (Spain). The team presented one paper reflecting on the effectiveness of the co-creation process in the Andalucia Los Pedroches Living Lab and a second paper on the assessment of climate adaptation measures and strategies implemented in the region by local livestock dehesa farmers in Los edroches in response to the drought period that affected the region between 2017 and 2024. The UCM team also presented the results of a survey conducted in the Los Pedroches region to understand the impact that a prohibition of drinking tap water in the region between April 2024 and April 2025 has had on the the public’s trust on the safety of tap water. The prohibition resulted the loss of the traditional source of water as a result of a years-long drought and of the poor quality of alternative local sources of water.
